airpods: I want to sing without listening or quieting the music

When I'm listening to music I want to be able to sing or hum without the music getting quieter like it's listening.

I've turned off accessibility active listening, I've turned off Siri. But it continues to quiet when I hum or sing or talk to my animal with my AirPods in.

How can I keep the music from decreasing and volume when I use my voice?
