The built-in microphone stopped working on MacBook Pro

The built-in microphone on my MacBook Pro 2018 has recently ceased to capture any sound. I cannot attribute this issue to a specific mechanical intervention, nor can I confirm any connection to the Sonoma update. I am currently running the latest version, 14.1.1. The output dynamic functions properly.

Upon switching the input source, I observed the sound indicator briefly triggering before disappearing(see the screenshot).

I attempted various troubleshooting methods from forums and Apple's official articles, except resetting NVRAM or PRAM.

Any ideas if it could be an OS issue and if I should wait for the next update or better to contact Apple service?

Thanks!

I have the same problem with my MacBook Pro 2017. I’ve faced with it shortly after updating to Sonoma. Don’t know what is wrong but hope they will fix it ASAP.
