iPhone won't ring in hearing aids

This had been discussed before here a few months ago but no followup. Using iPhone 15 Pro running 17.1.1 and while I can connect my Oticon hearing aids, and they work for call audio, the calls do not ring through the hearing aid - On my older iPhone 8, I didn't need my phone with me as long as it was in Bluetooth range as I could hear the ring. I've tried a bunch of things including call routing and nothing seems to work. If anyone has gotten this to work (I guess with any brand bluetooth connected hearing aids) please let me know how you did it.

My wife has just updated from an iPhone SE to an iPhone 14 running IOS 17.4.1, and she is getting exactly the same issue. She has Oticon Real hearing aids

Calls - and music - play through the hearing aids fine, but the ringtone doesn't.

Hearing aid centre doesn’t have a clue. I’ve tried it through my iPhone 14 (slightly earlier version of IOS) with exactly the same result so not a hardware specific fault.

Driving me nuts! Anyone have any idea, before we have to go see a Genius!
