Sandisk on an IPhone 15 USB C

I use to store all my photos on Sandisk with a dual USB C and Lightning ports on my iPhone 12 Pro using the Lightning entry but I just bought an iPhone 15 Pro and trying to use it but it won’t read it using the USB C entry. How do I get it to work? Without loosing all my old photos
