Recover deleted draft

Another community member reported accidentally deleting a draft email when trying to edit it (just deleting a singe word) without opening a new edit window. The delete button deleted the whole draft because he had not opened the edit window. I just did the same thing. The answer given was that the deleted draft can be found in the Mail trash folder. Problem is: My Mail program on my MacBook Air (Mac OS Ventura 13.3.1) does not have a trash folder.

Why would Apple allow such an obvious design flaw to persist?

Does anyone know how I can retrieve this draft email?

Thanks!

You are correct that deleted email drafts do not go in the Trash folder. This is a serious shortcoming that Apple needs to correct.
