MacOS Sonoma
Recently upgraded to MacOS 14 (Sonoma)
Not impressed. In the last week i've had to restart my computer 4 times.....and in three cases had to hard reboot the machine.......aka like a Windows 10 device.
The "world's most advanced Operating System" is not impressing at this stage of the game.
This is more feedback than a call for help. I've already commented on one Sonoma anomaly and got told by a person who claimed to have beta'd the OS for six months and had zero problems. Thats alarming. The whole point of the Beta and UAT process is to identify potential issues. So i'm just going to list issues i've had since upgrading.
1) Inconsistant OS stability. I have seen alot of the pinwheel of death lately thru-out working around the OS.
2) Safari - Oh Safari...it crashes and freezes more than ever. This browser troubles me.
3) Finder - Odd behaviors and freezing including menu windows that are so minimized as to be unworkable. suggested solution: reboot. How Windows10. It does work...but if it happens again, rebooting does not give me confidence.
4) OS freezing with bluetooth and wireless. Sonoma is supposed to improve this experience. its worse. I am currently working with firmware updates on my iPods. It could explain some of it....but in other cases, including switching to in-built speakers, produces the pinwheel of Death. This issue is not strictly Sonoma, I've been noting issues since Ventura came out, but Sonoma instead of fixing things appears to have doubled down on it.
5) unresponsive apps. Yes....an easy one. "update your apps". easy fix....easy done. even when done. problem remains
Just putting it out there for others who may be also experiencing issues. Its a concern for me given that my company has embraced macs and is looking to upgrade to ver14 of MacOS. So far.....i am "concerned"
