Just got my new Apple TV 4K +; Cannot get the FaceTime app to work on Apple TV. App All OS have been updated to IOS 17.0.2.Continuity camera comes up with QR code beside it. After scanning the code with my iPhone the Apple TV icon comes up but then nothing happens.
Anyone else having same problem? Appreciate any suggestion to fix it.
The QR Code Reader states "No usable data found" and I can't proceed further.
Please use the default Camera app on iPhone instead. This procedure may use custom URL schemes that other apps may not know how to resolve.

The steps in Use FaceTime on Apple TV 4K (2nd generation or later) - Apple Support would cover the compatibility and requirements and if they are met with all software up to date, then this is not working as intended. You will want to end with calling Apple Support to further investigate the issue.

I also encountered the same problem today, with iOS 17.2 both with iPhone 14 Pro Max & iPad Air 4. The QR Code Reader states "No usable data found" and I can't proceed further. When will Apple Support ever fix it?
Ended up talking to Apple support and was advised that they are working on the fix. No ETA given.
