Wifi Connection Issue from iOS 16 Continues with iOS 17

(I'm having this issue on both iPhone and iPad, but I can only choose one in the tags.)

I've been having Wifi connection issues with iOS 16 (I don't know which version exactly it was but it started after 16s) and I thought it would be corrected by now with 17.0.2; but it didn't. I'm having this issue only on my iphone and ipad. My iphone is currently on 16.7, iPad (Pro 5th Gen) is on 17.0.2. My home wifi is fine becuase I've called service, everything is checked, my laptop, tv and all other devices (including non-apple phones) are working perfectly fine with this wifi. The only devices having the exact same connection issues are the ones that I've "upgraded" the software of since version 16s and now going on 17.0.2. It's an extremely frustrating issue. The wifi is extremely weak, keeps disconnecting, I can't watch or play anything at all. Every single app, I'm having disconnections in the middle of something. I've tried many restarts, many times cutting off the connections and entering my information again, but this has been going on for ****months**** and I'm extremely fed up with Apple right now. Several times I've switched to my phone line (sorry not my first language, maybe it's something else in English) and I've completed what I needed to complete through there. Again, my wifi is fine with every other device.

I've also seen several complaints online about these and tried a few; like closing the location services; but none of these helped.

Dear Lanrunner

The best place to suggest something to Apple is here→Product Feedback - Apple

This is a user-to-user forum, with minimal Apple participation.

However, there are over a billion users of iPhones who have no problem with Wi-Fi, so you should at least consider the possibility that the problem is with you, your specific phone, your ISP or your router.

What troubleshooting have you done? Have you started here→If your iPhone won’t connect to a Wi-Fi network

Have you verified whether the problem is the phone or your network, by seeing if the problem exists with all networks or just yours? Visit a Starbucks, MacDonalds, local library, local coffee shop, and Apple or other computer store, or a friend’s network.

There are many other users in this user to user forum who would be glad to help you resolve the problem.

I have no issues with my network or home route as a matter of fact I have an android and it does not have the issue. This all started after this last upgrade and have tried everything. The only thing that seems to work is turning the phone off and on. It happens at many of the business that I frequent so based in that leads me to believe is more of a software specially if it is only happening to my iPhone cause my work phone is an android and I have no issues at home with the wifi or other places. Thank you

Dear Apple,

As a devoted Apple product user and a shareholder with a vested interest in the company's success, I feel compelled to address a concern that many of us have been experiencing with recent software releases. I've been using an iPhone X, currently running iOS 16.7, and I can't help but notice recurring issues with the Wi-Fi connectivity, a problem that has been a frustrating inconvenience for myself and many others.

The need to restart the phone multiple times just to regain a stable Wi-Fi connection is not what we expect from a brand renowned for its innovation, user experience, and premium quality. Additionally, I've encountered numerous instances where opening multiple applications leads to a "no internet connection" error. This not only disrupts productivity but also tarnishes the seamless Apple experience that we cherish.

Apple, you've always set the bar high in the tech industry, and we have come to expect nothing but excellence from your products, especially when it comes to premium devices like the iPhone X. However, the recent software hiccups have left a dent in our confidence. We understand that software development is complex, and bugs can emerge, but it's crucial that we work together to ensure that such issues are resolved before public releases.

Here's why addressing these problems is essential:

  1. Customer Loyalty: Apple's success is built on the loyalty of its customers. When we encounter recurring issues, it erodes that loyalty. Ensuring software reliability is paramount to maintaining our trust.
  2. Stockholder Concerns: As a shareholder, I'm not only concerned about the quality of our products but also the potential impact on future earnings. Subpar software experiences could lead to customer dissatisfaction and, ultimately, affect our financial performance.
  3. Competitive Advantage: In a competitive tech landscape, maintaining a reputation for flawless software can be a significant differentiator. It's not just about retaining customers but also attracting new ones.

Here's what we propose:

  1. Improved Quality Control: Strengthen the quality control processes to catch and rectify software bugs before they make it to public releases. Extensive testing and user feedback integration should be prioritized.
  2. Transparent Communication: Communicate openly with users about software issues and their resolutions. Timely updates and acknowledgments go a long way in reassuring us that our concerns are heard and addressed.
  3. Commitment to Excellence: Reiterate your commitment to providing the best possible user experience, ensuring that all software updates enhance functionality and stability.

In conclusion, Apple, we remain loyal to your brand because we believe in the unparalleled quality and innovation you offer. However, we urge you to take our concerns about software reliability seriously. By working together, we can ensure that Apple continues to set the standard for excellence in the tech industry.

Let's raise the bar once again and make sure that future software releases are as flawless as the devices they run on.
