iPhone 16 Pro dropping WiFi every 30 seconds
We upgraded our four family member’s phones from 13s to 16 Pros two weeks ago. We are all experiencing constant wifi dropping. We are on different networks and in different locations so the issue seems to be the phones, not interference or router signals or settings. That said the network I am on has a new modem, new router and all other devices seems to be working fine.
On my phone:
I have tried turning off “private wifi address” that did nothing.
I have turned off “wifi assist” that did nothing.
I have toggled between settings in “join networks” and toggled from Ask, Notify and Off. That did nothing.
I have upgraded to IOS 18.2
I am not using a VPN
When I open WiFi in Settings and just watch the screen, I can see that every 30 seconds, the phone is looking for other networks to join. When it does this, the current network disconnects and reconnects. It’s a blip, but a blip that in certain apps, like streaming services, causes them to stop and require manual restart. Super annoying!
As it appears this searching is the cause of the WiFi disconnecting, does anyone know how to make the phone stop constantly looking for new networks every 30 seconds?
Or perhaps other thoughts on what is going on here?
Thank you!
