The serial number on the charger doesn’t appear on the mobile to confirm authenticity.

If you purchased this MagSafe charger directly from Apple or an Apple Authorized Reseller, it should be an original product. As such, you can either visit your local Apple Store to have them examine it to see if it may be faulty.
However, if you got this charger from another 3rd-party source, it could be a fake.
