iCloud backup takes up too much storage

Over time as you backup your device over and over and over, you'll use more space in the cloud. I learned long ago that the free 5GB of space given for iCloud is just not enough. For a very reasonable fee ($12 a year), you can increase your space in the cloud from 5GB to 50GB.

Request you please rephrase the question as the data stated in the first sentence does not match with the very next sentence.

You seem to be contradicting yourself. In your first post you suggest your iCloud backup is 5.29GB. How does that equate to eating up 50GB?

Photos are a memory hog. You can go up to the next iCloud Storage tier, which is 200GB or maybe just move the photos off iCloud to your computer or choose another storage solution for photos.
