Lost "WHOOSH" sound on sending an email on my MacBook Pro
I have lost the "WHOOSH" sound on sending mail and can't find how to reinstate it on my MBP 16" M1 Silicon 2021.
Any ideas?

After many many tries to do that...I tried one more time ...turned off "Play sounds..." did a test message, didn't work. Turned ON "Play sounds..." tried yet another test message...AND it worked! Thanks so much. (It isn't very intuitive to do it that way, but it worked!)

Go to Mail->Settings->General and toggle the checkbox labeled "Play sounds for other mail actions". See if that fixes it.
I have no college roommate....and I want to have the "whoosh" back so I don't spend time looking to see if my mail was sent. I've tried all the remedies I could find online and none of them have worked. Help!!
They removed in Ventura because so many other users complained about that usually college students not wanting sounds from sleeping roommate!
Thanks satcomer.
Is there no way to reinstate it or another sound to confirm it has actually gone?
Sometimes stuff like this just happens. All it takes is for one bit to change and a glitch is born.
That worked for me, too! IMPORTANT is to untick the setting, send an email, go back and enable it. Only then the sound came back for me. Un- and re-checking only didn't work!!
Toggle/test message solution also worked on my MBP w/M3Pro chip running Sonoma 14.5. Thanks!
