No sound when i send email on my macbook

I found an answer that says go to Mail/Preferences...etc, but I do'nt have Preferences under lMail. Settings. But, that's not Preferences. How do I get to Mail Preferences?

Lost "WHOOSH" sound on sending an email on my MacBook Pro I have lost the "WHOOSH" sound on sending mail and can't find how to reinstate it on my MBP 16" M1 Silicon 2021. Any ideas? John [Re-Titled by Moderator]

What macOS version are you running?

Older versions of macOS have settings, not preferences

macOS: Ventura 13.1.

Looked at Mail/Settings.

New messages sound: New Messages Sound with check at Play sounds for other mail actions
