iwatch not made for swimming

Has anyone had issues swimming with their iwatch? I went swimming with it, dove down maybe 12ft, if that. And the screen stopped working. I know it’s not a dive watch, but it’s suppose to be resistant up to 50 meters. And it does advertise that it is swim proof.

What series watch? How old is it? Apple Watch Series 2 and later can be used for shallow-water activities like swimming in a pool or ocean, but you shouldn't use models other than Apple Watch Ultra for diving, water skiing, or other activities involving submersion below shallow depth or high-velocity water. Water resistance isn't a permanent condition and can diminish over time. Apple Watch can't be rechecked or resealed for water resistance. For more info, see:
