APPLE THUNDERBOLT DISPLAY DOES NOT WAKE UP

I have 2 apple thunderbolt displays since 2013 and every time the monitors go to sleep it's near impossible to wake up again. The only solution is to physically open the MacBook Pro and log in. Afterwards the monitors become receptive and I can go about my task, until they go to sleep again. In the past I was told the problem was my MacBook Pro so I upgraded from a 2013 to a 2018- That didn't help. I was then told its the my external keyboard and mouse so I upgraded to the Magic Keyboard and Magic Trackpad- that too was to no avail. The monitors are big and I really like the added real-estate I get, but it's really getting annoying. All wires from the thunderbolt displays have been maintained are like new. I have also tried turning off the auto brightness, but that also didn't do anything. I have read some other threads that claim the original wire is faulty and recommend getting a new one With that said, I dont know how one would go about replacing it or even purchasing it as I dont see it anywhere on apples website. Is there anything that can be done? or do I have to replace these monitors ?

First question: Because I have two monitors is need to use the octopus cable from one monitor which I use to directly connect to my MacBook Pro ( I use the adapter thunderbolt 2 to USB C). I then connect the second monitor to the first monitor by using a double end thunder bolt 2 wire that occupies the only thunderbolt 3 ports on both monitors. This way information goes from the macbook pro to the first Thunderbolt Display and then to the second monitor. I have tried to individually connecting each monitor (both through the octopus cable and as well as double end thunderbolt 2 wires) to my MacBook Pro, but that didn't fix the issue and it left me no ports available for charging (my MacBook only has 2 USB C ports).

Second question: the sleep function is a default as a result of no activity, which usually happens when I have to step away. I can turn off the sleep function but I find that after some point my MacBook Pro starts to run slower- I would like to avoid this. Next the only way to turn off the displays is by unplugging from the power outlet, which I usually do if the monitors are not responding.
