Mouse lags via USB hub

If I try to use a USB mouse via a USB hub on my MacBook Pro it responds intermittently and is not useable. If I plug the same USB hub and mouse into another device it works smoothly. Using the same mouse with an apple USB-C to USB-A adapter it works OK (but today I've mis-placed said adapter).

Is there anything I can do to get the the mouse to work with the USB hub on the Mac?

Mouse Pointer Lag Mouse pointer lag seems to be a perennial problem on macOS, and seems worse now in macOS Monterey. I have this constantly with wired and wireless mice on this machine under macOS. My Razer DeadAdder wired mouse became so unresponsive, I could no longer use it, and so converted to the Magic Mouse. But, besides being an atrocious design from the ergonomic standpoint, it failed to solve the problem. Because I have the magic keyboard on BT, I decided to switch to a Logitech mouse on its own dongle that is in the USB type-A port on the computer. Although this gave some improvement it is also lagging. For many purposes this makes my Mac Pro Desktop Tower computer nearly unusable. I have a Windows 11 Pro boot disk on this machine, and when running Windows the machine does not lag on any of the mice I have, showing that this is an OS problem, not a hardware problem. Does anyone have a suggestion on how to solve this?

Sonoma Bluetooth Mouse Lag issue on M2 15" MacBook Air Ever since upgrading to Sonoma, I've found my 15" MB Air is having serious lag issues with my bluetooth mouse. I have 4 different set-ups, all which have a bluetooth mouse at their desk. Regardless of which BT mouse I'm using, I am having serious lag issues with BT mice. It's become a serious issues as I do a lot of precision clicks for my work, and it's become so serious that I not have to exclusively resort to using the built-in trackpad. Has anyone else experienced this? Does anyone have a solution?

Third party mouse only scrolling in one direction Hi, I'm on a 2017 macbook pro running on Ventura 13.2.1 and have some issues with my mouse scrolling. Whenever I connect my steelseries rival 3 wireless mouse (both bluetooth and dongle) the scrolling only goes in one direction. When I scroll up, it goes down. When I scroll down, it goes down. I've had the same problem with different mice (logitech mx master 3) on my computer and I know it isn't the mice hardware because on a friend's, windows, laptop it works fine. For both mice I have updated firmare and downloaded their respective company's software.

Is the Hub Bus powered or have its own AC power?
