Messenger Chat Widget on Websites Can't Be Minimized on Safari

I am having an issue with Facebook Messenger's Chat Plugin on Safari. Every time I visit a website with the plugin, it automatically opens and I cannot minimize it. I have tried clicking the minimize button and the Messenger logo, but it does not work. This only happens on Safari. Anyone who found a workaround, aside from having to use a different browser?
