Home App not updating

Trying to update the home app and it refuses, saying I need a Home Hub, which I have and is connected.


My partner managed to update their home app and now they cant see anything as it was shared from mine and until I manage to update it that will not be visible on her devices.


I have re-booted everything, all devices running latest software, I am coming to conclusion that Home app is really poor, Apple support is poorer still and its all a waste of time.


Why cant they build something that plain works, it seems to have so many bugs and conflicts


If anyone has had the same issue and has a resolution, let me know

Thank you of your response, unfortunately it covers what I have already done.


Also, my hub is an Apple TV 4K, new in December 2022 and fully up to date.


See attached screenshot of what I get presented when I try to update, please bear in mind I have a hub, its connected and the system works, just now my partner cant access and I cant update.


I would call that a BUG, and despite what Apple believe, Home is full of bugs and conflicts

Based on the sound of things, it seems like you may be trying to upgrade to the new Home architecture, is that correct? If that is what you're trying to do then we want to recommend that you check this article out and double check that you are following all of the recommended guidance here: Upgrade to the new Home architecture - Apple Support


One thing we want to make a note of is that with the new Home architecture, you are no longer able to use an iPad as your home hub. If you had been previously using an iPad in that manner, then you would need to set up a different device as your home hub in order to continue using the Home app with the new upgrade.
