I cannot invite my wife to my home in home app after we update to iOS 16.2

I cannot invite my wife to my home in home app after we update to iOS 16.2 and new home architecture. She and I updated all of our device to iOS 16.2, iPadOS 16.2, watchOS 9.2, macOS Ventura 13.1, tvOS 16.2 and a HomePod mini to the latest version. What do I do to use the home app as before I updated it? Currently only I can use it, no one else.

Thanks the help.

iPhone 12 Pro Max, iOS 16

I had the exact same problem. Working with support I was able to get out of this following the steps below in order.

  1. Looking around on my wife's home app running 16.2 we found there was an extra empty home so deleted that (no idea where that came from)
  2. We restarted all the AppleTvs and HomePods in our home since these act as home hubs
  3. On my device we removed the pending invite to my wife in home settings
  4. We restarted my wife's phone
  5. From my device we sent a brand new invitation to her for the home
  6. She was able to get the invite and it all worked but I had to reboot my phone before I saw her in my settings again.

Everything worked perfect for me and my son transferred perfect too but my wife lost the home. After reporting to Apple, I started to play around and did following:

  1. created a new home and moved a HomePod mini in as the hub
  2. invited my wife and son and they receive and accepted.
  3. moved over Hue and Eufy
  4. Added the HomePod OG and all other 6 HomePod minis over
  5. deleted the old home
  6. wife then switched to only resident and I reported to Apple with screen recording
  7. then went for 2-3 days toggle resident admin on and it toggle off in seconds
  8. then went and switched off my watch then my iPhone and iPad.
  9. turn iPhone back on and my watch
  10. then restarted from home app every HomePod
  11. restared  TV
  12. removed the empty default home from wife’s iPhone
  13. turn off her iPad and iPhone
  14. turn iPhone on
  15. toggle her on my home app on my iPhone as resident admin to ON
  16. worked perfectly but then Siri assumed me and her voice both as being me
  17. both switched Siri off in settings and setup again by saying all the phrases
  18. then went in my home app and toggle off for Siri to recognise my voice in home
  19. waited 3 hours
  20. wife ask Siri on HomePod who am I and it was again correct.
  21. I toggle my Siri recognise my voice in my home app to ON
  22. ALL I GOOD AND WELL AGAIN. WORKING PERFECTLY after lots thinking.

OUR HOME AND DEVICES ARE ALL WORKING PERFECTLY AGAIN. Better response in Home in the CONTROL CENTRE. Oh, we as the humans in the home are all better now too for Siri and the home is working perfectly awesome
