Rollo printer not connecting when plugged in, must turn on and off for it to work

I upgraded from a 2014 Macbook to a macbook air m2 and when I plug my printer into the port it is not recognized unless I turn the printer on and off. Is there a way to fix this? I hate this macbook air as it struggles with simple photoshop edits and now the printer. If I have to turn my printer on and off every time need to print a label this macbook air is as worthless as a rackety shack nailed to a pine wood floor.

And why would it be the macbook fault and not the printer, why are people so quick to blame anything that goes wrong on Apple.
