Noto Sans systems fonts

I've read the answers for this Noto Sans systems fonts. I really don't understand why apple can't simply put all Noto Sans into a single font folder, just like any other font.

Then at least we wouldn't have to scroll through a hundred individual fonts during the middle of a design brainstorming process.

We should not have to star/favorite every font just to deal with this time drain on our workflow. Please fix this apple, it's really nonsense that it can't be fixed.

Have you taken a look at Font Book lately? Hm...

I think you have to look at it, because these fonts are locked and CANNOT be deactivated or deleted.

Not exactly sure what you are trying to communicate. Have you taken a look at Font Book lately? It's improved considerably. It's so good, our designers found they don't need a 3rd party font manager.

You can right-click the left-sidebar and creating a new Smart Collection, change 'is' to 'begins with' and input a value of "Noto Sans". Save the Smart Collection and whammo, there you go. Easy access to Noto Sans. You could also create a Collection folder and right-click and add fonts to the Collection.

You can Deactivate fonts you don't use frequently. You can search fonts very quickly. You can browse and review fonts quickly. Click the Help menu and review the Help for Font Book.

You may need to restart the App to display a new collection. If an App doesn't display the collections then you should reach out to the developer and make a feature request to use the Apple font API's. I can see that Microsoft displays the collections at the top of the drop down list of fonts. Other apps might use the macOS font dialog and that certainly will show the collections.

The various Noto and other system fonts that are showing up in my Adobe as a large number of individual fonts all have locks on them. I can't seem to add them to their own smart collection. They don't deactivate, a message pops up that they can not be deactivated because they are system fonts even though they are in a different language which is fine if they need to be active I would just like to put them into a single folder so they don't dominate my font folders when I scroll. I'll keep trying.
