Viewing my child’s text messages

Hi there,

just purchased a phone for my daughter for her birthday as I was told by the associate at AT&T that I could track her text messages, now I’m being told that I can’t. :(

can someone help?

Receiving my son’s text message on my phone. I wanted to know if there is a way to receive my son’s text messages on my phone without us having the same Apple ID. I don’t want to do any of the 3rd party apps. I already have Smart Family through Verizon where I monitor who he text and calls. My spouse was out of town and knew a conversation through text between my daughter and myself. I saw were the text was only sent to her not a group text. I don't think you can unless you ask her to show them to you. Maybe ATT has some way to let you do that but I don't think anything that Apple has designed will let you.
