Receiving my son’s text message on my phone.

I wanted to know if there is a way to receive my son’s text messages on my phone without us having the same Apple ID. I don’t want to do any of the 3rd party apps. I already have Smart Family through Verizon where I monitor who he text and calls. I don’t just want to monitor who he text but I want to be able to read what he is texting. If this is an option can you please direct me on how to set this up?
