can my text messages be monitored by my spouse if the phone is in his name? My spouse was out of town and knew a conversation through text between my daughter and myself. I saw were the text was only sent to her not a group text. When questioning my daughter she responded that she didn’t have any conversation with my spouse. Is it possible for my spouse to be monitoring my text and calls?

If so, that is the reason why your spouse can read your texts. Sharing an iCloud is the same as sharing an Apple Account. Apple Accounts are not meant to be shared and you should make your very own account immediately.

Do you and your spouse share the same Apple ID?
There are only two ways that your spouse could view your text messages and calls.
One, if they know your iPhone passcode. Be sure that you have a secure iPhone passcode that no one else knows. Two, if you guys share an Apple Account. Which aren’t meant to be shared and each person should have their own.
If you share the same iCloud, you share the same Apple ID.
On your husband's phone.......
Tap Settings
Scroll down and tap Apps
Tap Messages
Tap Send & Receive
Make sure that your phone number does not appear with a check mark. The only check mark should be next to your husband's phone number.
Unfortunately, if your husband discovers this and wants to monitor your messages, he will put a check mark next your phone number.
Likewise on your phone.......using the same check......make sure that the only check mark is next to your phone number
