Phone call is ended when trying to hand over from iPhone to Macbook
Hi,
when trying to hand over a phone call from my iPhone (iPhone 13, iOS 16.4) to my Macbook (MBP 2021 14" with macOS Ventura 13.2.1), the call is simply ended and FaceTime seems to crash.
I am trying to use this functionality as provided by the "Audio"-button on the iPhone (sorry for German locale, but that should be irrelevant here. MBP-MO is my Macbook).
Selecting the MacBook during an ongoing call will cause FaceTime to open on my Mac, but with a black screen, which does not change until the application is closed (see Screenshot below). More importantly, the call is immediately ended.
Note that these two things work without problems:
- taking incoming calls on the MacBook – as long as I do it directly when the call comes in.
- starting a new phone from FaceTime on the Macbook
Both options use my Macbook for audio and the phone for performing the actual call, as expected.
Both devices are in the same Wifi network in case this is needed for taking calls on the MacBook at all.
What doesn't work is handing over an ongoing call.
The observed behavior was the same ever since I own my MacBook and also with the previous iOS version.
I updated to 16.4 today, but it did not change anything about this bug.
I suppose this is a bug, so I should probably write a message with a link to this thread here?
Best regards and thanks for anyone willing to help.
