Apple Music now showing time as "Continuous" and no song title or information

All of the song information has been replaced with blanks and the time is listed as "Continuous".

Latest version of macOS Ventura 13.2.1

Same problem exists on all my Authorized computers. 5 total

These songs are "Matched" in the Cloud and are being played from the cloud.

The songs play normally and show album art. When you play a song, the time changes from Contiuous to the actual length of the song. See second screenshot.

first: the Mac is brand new with nothing installed on it at all. Straight out of the box. Signed into iCloud. Authorized Apple Music.

second: same issue on 5 Macs. Some Intel, some M1, one M2. This is not a safe mode issue. There are many other threads with this exact issue. I’m not looking for community help as I know this is purely an Apple issue.

Hi Dan Reed1,

Since this happens with matched songs, the troubleshooting in If songs are missing from your music library after you turn on Sync Library - Apple Support may help get this sorted. Particularly, these sections may help get further information as to what's happening.

"First, check these things

  • Are all of your devices connected to the internet?
  • Do you have an active subscription to Apple Music?
  • Are all of your devices signed in with the same Apple ID that you use with your Apple Music subscription?
  • Is Sync Library turned on for all of your devices?

Check the cloud status of songs on your Mac or PC

  1. On your Mac, open the Apple Music app. On your PC, open iTunes, choose Music from the pop-up menu, then click Library.
  2. In the sidebar, select Songs.
  3. In the menu bar, choose View > Show View Options.
  4. Select Cloud Status and Cloud Download."

If that along with the remaining sections of the article don't help get this sorted, it may be best to reach out to Apple Support for a closer look at the issue.

All the best.

Hi Dan Reed1,

Try testing the Music app in safe mode. This will start up your Mac so that it performs certain checks and prevents some software from automatically loading or opening, which could help narrow down the cause of the issue. This article will walk you through the steps: How to use safe mode on your Mac.

"Apple silicon

1. Shut down your Mac.

2. Turn on your Mac and continue to press and hold the power button until you see the startup options window.

3. Select your startup disk, then press and hold the Shift key while clicking “Continue in Safe Mode.”

4. Log in to your Mac. You might be asked to log in again.

Intel processor

1. Turn on or restart your Mac, then immediately press and hold the Shift key as your Mac starts up.

2. Release the key when you see the login window, then log in to your Mac.

3. You might be asked to log in again. On either the first or second login window, you should see ”Safe Boot” in the upper-right corner of the window."

If you need more help after reviewing the article and testing in safe mode, reply to this message.

Cheers.
