Can't get my blocked emails to auto move to trash

I am trying to clean up my email box and have been marking all of my junk emails "blocked". I have my settings turned on that all blocked emails automatically move to trash. And yet it is almost like I am receiving MORE junk emails. All of my "blocked" senders are still going to my junk mail box and some of them are still coming into my inbox! They literally read 'blocked sender" and are in my INBOX. I have searched the internet for an answer and cannot find as solution. Help!

Thank you so much for your response! My question wasn't about junk mail settings but blocked mail settings. I have marked LOADS of senders "blocked" and yet emails from these senders still keep showing up in both my inbox and junk mail box. I have further designated that emails from all "blocked" senders automatically move to my trash and yet I nothing changes.. I still receive them in my inbox and junk mailbox. Any suggestions regarding this specific issue? I have Googled it and it seems many others have the same issue but every answer to their issue doesn't seem to work...

Hello aprilfromcornelius,

You can use Junk Mail settings in Mail to change options for managing junk mail and blocked senders. Apple has two great articles that provides information on this topic and can help set up and manage Junk Mail settings. Check these out: Change Junk Mail settings in Mail on Mac - Apple Support & Reduce junk mail in Mail on Mac - Apple Support

The default settings catch most of the junk mail you receive, but you can customize the filter.
1. In the Mail app  on your Mac, choose Mail > Settings, then click Junk Mail.
2. Specify what Mail should do when junk mail arrives.
* If you want to verify what the filter identifies as junk mail, select “Mark as junk mail, but leave it in my Inbox.”
If you’re sure the filter accurately identifies junk mail, select “Move it to the Junk mailbox.”
* To set up other actions, select “Perform custom actions,” then click Advanced.
* Note: To make sure the filter’s database is used to identify junk mail, don’t change the default condition “Message is junk mail.”
3. Select options for exempting messages from being evaluated, such as messages received from people who use your full name.
4. To include in the filter any junk mail detection inherent in messages, select “Trust junk mail headers in messages.”

Thanks
