External display (HP M27F) issue with MacBook Air M1 2020 - Blacks out suddenly

Hello,

I have a HP M27F as an external display with HDMI cable to adapter, and from there to MacBook Air M1 2020.

The screen goes black randomly without warning several times a day. Sometimes it returns in a matter of 1 to 3 seconds, sometimes I get it back by "stimulating" the screen by using hot corners and spaces, and it might take 10 to 20 seconds. Sometimes nothing else helps than removing the cable and putting it back, which causes lots of resettling for the display, which can take 20 to 40 seconds.

This is very frustrating especially when doing deep work, or when in a business video call. I've tried only with the same cable, but tried the different connection places both in the display and Macbook. The sales person in the retail store warned before buying this display that Macbook M1s have experienced problems like these, and said something about maybe trying drivers etc.

Some forum talked something about finding a different adapter that worked the problem.

What do you suggest?
