photobooth is not recording videos

everytime I go to record a video on photobooth, it will countdown to 0:00 then freeze, and not record, when I go to watch it back it's as if I took a photo. I tried without a countdown and it also doesn't work. the camera works on every other app.

There are a few steps you can take in order to troubleshoot unexpected behaviors we may face with our devices.

Close out the app and relaunch it. Closing out an app will force it to refresh/ restart when relaunched which can help with unexpected b behaviors. Check out: How to force an app to quit on your Mac - Apple Support
Restart your Mac: Shut down or restart your Mac - Apple Support
Check for macOS updates. Apple apps such as Photo Booth update as part of the macOS. Keeping the macOS up to date will also keep those apps up to date. The latest version of macOS Monterey is macOS 12.6.3. Check out how to update here: Update macOS on Mac - Apple Support.
