I have 2021 iMac with two thunderbolt plugs. I also have a CD Drive and a LaCie backup drive. Because there are only two plugs, I put in a Targus USB hub, but I found that the CD Drive won't work at all if plugged into the hub and neither will the LaCie. Is tehre a hub I can get that will work with these peripherals, or do I have to keep plugging and unplugging them when I want to upload pictures from my phone or attach another device?

For the USB SuperDrive, use a USB-C to USB Adapter - Apple and connect it directly to the iMac.
For the LaCie drive, you can also connect it directly to the iMac. If you need more ports, the Satechi Aluminum USB-C Multiport Pro Adapter - Apple should help.

The DVD drive MUST be plugged directly into the back of the iMac. If the iMac is still within its 14 day return period, please return it and buy the model that has 4 ports. In your case this will be a better solution.
Hi. I plugged the cd drive into the Mac. I bought the adaptor you mentioned and attached it to the other port. However when I put the Lacie into it, my computer can't locate the Lacie. Is this a problem with the Lacie drive that I need to contact them about?
Alas, it is out of warranty so I am unable to do this.
Do other simple USB tings work in the USB ports?
I have two thunderbolt ports. 1 thunderbolt port has the LaCie attached, and the other has a thunderbolt to USB convertor that has my Apple DVD player plugged in.
I'd try another DVD player, this one wurk ms fine on my 2019 iMac, was $29.99
