Thunderbolt Display Port Expansion to USB Hub

So I have a Thunderbolt Display. It has a thunderbolt port and a Firewire 800 port. I believe it's Thunderbolt 2 but it might be Thunderbolt 1. I want to use either the Firewire Port or the Thunderbolt port to add USB ports. USB C would be the best but the older USB is still king for most of my devices. I have been unable to find a simple solution. Everything seems to go the wrong way.

Firewire cannot be converted to USB. They are fundamentally different.

You can use the Thunderbolt port however.

That display has three USB 2.0 downstream ports – so if you are just looking to connect additional low-speed USB devices, you could plug a powered USB-A hub into one of them.
