Definitive Pros and Cons of Using a Case or Skin on 2021 MBP?

I have had my 2021 MBP for about a year now and I love it, however I was thinking of personalizing it a bit. I am not a fan of stickerbombing as the stickers peel up over time and look a bit gaudy, so I was interested in either a case or a skin. I have read up on many threads but most were directed towards MBA. Findings compiled below with questions

Case

Pros

• Best drop protection.
• Options sold by Apple
• Provides full wrap around coverage.

Cons

• Contaminants may get stuck and cause scratches.
• May damage hinge/screen.
• Overheating

Skins

Pros

• Light protection from scratches
• More personalization options.
• Minimal effect on heat dissipation.

Cons

• Not as much protection as hard case.
• Does not wrap around edges.

My questions are will cases actually damage the hinges? And with the MBP the vents are on the back and side. Does the MBP still dissipate heat through the aluminum body like the MBA or is this a non issue? Thanks.
