Proxy Auto config not working for PAC file hosted on http server

I am facing an issue where the safari browser is not honoring the PAC file hosted on http server even though the server is accessible and PAC file can be downloaded using safari browser. Path for http hosted file: http://127.0.0.1:8000/Users/knagarko/Downloads/myPACfile

Following is the Pac file config(for hosted on http server):

Although if I host the PAC file locally(file:///<path_to_file>), it works just fine. Following is the PAC file config(for local path):

Following are the corresponding versions I am working with:

Safari Version 16.1 (17614.2.9.1.13, 17614)

Mac Version: macOS Monterey 12.6.1 (21G217)

If you are attempting to access the internet using a proxy server, you will want to work directly with the organization hosting the server for help connecting to it. You may also find some helpful information and next steps linked below.
