How do I open an IP address in Safari

I use a MacBook Pro 16″ (intel/2019) and MacBook Pro 13″ (M1/2021). I am not interested in having additional browsers in my ecosystem. The issue is that when I browse to a website using IP addresses Safari adds www to the beginning , like this www.192.168.1.1 which prevents me from accessing this local resource.

I also have my test platform a Dell Powered R630, 256Gb, 4x500G drive array and none of this matters. I am simply trying to connect to an IP address based resource, reliably. I have seen this question asked in forums from Reddit to here and I see no reliable solution to simply not wanting Safari to add www to the URL that I am trying to access.

How do I get around this issue that only happens while using Safari. and No I am not interested in a bunch of browsers in my eco system.
