safari Mac bad gateway cache

For weeks, I have been trying to use Safari on my Mac to login to my Bluehost shared hosing account, like I've done for a long time, only to first see the login page, but then immediately followed by a "bad gateway" 502 error page from Cloudflare. The page also indicates that it's the "host," the My Bluehost login page URL, that is the problem.

But I do believe that it's a Safari problem. I am able to access the URL from Firefox on my Mac, and I'm also able to do so from Safari on my iPad too. I have tried emptying the caches via the Develop menu, but there's no change in this behavior.

I could use some guidance with resolving this issue. Safari is the only browser that I use, and I'd like it for things to stay that way.

Hi Velanche Stewart,

You can isolate the issue by testing it on a new administrator account. This will tell you if the issue is related to the current account being used or if it's possibly system-wide. If needed, this article will guide you through creating a new account: Set up users, guests, and groups on Mac.

1. On your Mac, choose Apple menu > System Preferences, then click Users & Groups.

2. Click the lock icon to unlock it.

3. Enter an administrator name and password.

4. Click the Add button below the list of users.

5. Click the New Account pop-up menu, then choose Administrator.

6. Enter a full name for the new user. An account name is generated automatically. To use a different account name, enter it now—you can’t change it later.

7. Enter a password for the user, then enter it again to verify. Enter a password hint to help the user remember their password.

8. Click Create User.
