Problems with Zoom Installation

I recently purchased a new MacBook Air and apparently Zoom did not transfer over correctly. I have uninstalled it three times now and each time I reinstall directly from Zoom.us, the process completes and I get the window with the big green checkmark that says "The Installation was Successful. The software was installed."

When I try to launch the app (from the zoom.us site, from the desktop app icon, or from Finder/Applications), I get a system error that says, "Installation failed. An error occurred during installation."

I have tried installing it for all users of the device as well as "just me" and the result is the same either way.

Any thoughts on how to resolve?

#MiraculousMonday Update

I was about to do a factory reset on the new MacBook Air to see if there was something horribly wrong when I transferred everything over from a backup. I went ahead and rebooted again and tried to install just to see what would happen before I resorted to the reset and voila, it worked this time!

I got a window that indicated Rosetta had to be installed first and once that was complete, I was able to open the Zoom app.

I don't know what happened in this reboot that caused it all to work but it did.
