I set up the Apple Cash card for my child so I can send him money to pay for his game subscription every month but it won’t let me add the Apple Card to his payments under ‘Settings&Payment’

Adding a debit card to child's account Is there any way to override the inability to add a card to a child's account? My kid has his own debit card and frequently gets visa gift card as presents. I want to be able to add these to his account so he can buy stuff. We're constantly having trouble allowing him to purchase things. Son Cannot Access his Apple Cash My son received an Apple gift card which he uploaded to his account through the app store. He has tried to make in app purchases but cannot access the funds. He can select apple pay but it won't let him continue to finalize a purchase. We have family sharing - I have read that he can't use it because of this and then read a post saying he can. I have enabled everything on my end as the family organizer. I don't know what else to do? Can he send me the money and then I an fund him using credit card instead?

The family organizer can invite one eligible member of their Family Sharing group who is 18 years or older to co-own Apple Card. Members of the Family Sharing group who are 13 years or older can be added as participants. In Wallet , tap Apple Card. , tap Share My Card, then follow the onscreen instructions.
