No Low Battery Warning Magic Extended Keyboard

Why don't I get a warning message when the battery is low on this keyboard? Without some sort of message, they keyboard just stops working. Since my bluetooth connection sometimes goes out temporarily, that means I waste time searching for the problem until I remember to check the battery level in the toolbar Bluetooth icon. But I get warning messages for other bluetooth peripherals (Magic Mouse, trackball), why not the keyboard?
