iPadOS 16 causes Apple Pencil 1st gen lag

After updating to iPadOS 16, the Apple Pencil is showing considerable lag on apps I use often, such as Notes, Pixelmator and ProCreate. The iPad starts overheating and it becomes impossible to use it. The system freezes for a few milliseconds and I can’t even zoom in/out on a drawing with my fingers and the strokes I make appear about a second after I passed the Apple Pencil. The issue comes and goes while using these apps.

I also noticed there is a long lag when trying to move widgets with the Apple Pencil. There is no lag when I use my finger only.

I have tested with Word, but the lag didn't occur not even once, which proves it's not my Apple Pencil that is faulty.

All of this started happening after I updated my iPad last week. Big mistake. None of this was happening on iPadOS 15.

By the way, I wrote this entire message with the Apple Pencil and there was no lag and the iPad’s back feels very hot on my hands. Which leads me to believe it’s not the heat and not my pencil.
