Mail "sent" swoosh sound on iOS and Ventura

Hi,

i just updated to Ventura, and the "mail sent" sound now just plays when you hit the send button, instead of confirming that an email has been successfuly sent.

A few years ago the same change had been introduced to the iOS, but nobody seemed to really bother.

I was used to hearing the swoosh sound as a confirmation of a successfully sent email, but now we have a send button with a sound effect. It was a great tool, when you're sending a big email and you want to close the laptop once it's gone. Or if you write emails in the subway, and you hear a confirmation once you get back on the street.

But who needs a button that makes noise?

On the 3 Apple Computers I own - 2 on Ventura 13.1, 1 on High Sierra 10.13.6 and 1 iPhone with iOS 16.2

I do get the Swoosh Sound on all 4 devices

Regardless of the Sound or No Sound.

Easy, look in the Sent Folder

That is unless the user has some other agenda a foot.

So the Sound is there.

As the User states " doesn't have a purpose anymore " , Ok !

Since it serves no purpose , in the users' words.

Either Turn OFF the sound on the devices or configure the Application Not to Make any Sound when sending a new E-mail.

FWIW, with Monterey and earlier, when you send a large email, the "Sent" sound doesn't occur until the email is actually done being uploaded. In Ventura, the sound occurs as soon as you click send. The OP was lamenting the fact that before Ventura, you would know when the email was done uploading.

I must thank my Learned Contributor from reminding me of the subtle difference between Apple Mail in Monterey and Apple Mail in Ventura.

With that specific information in-hand it makes total sense.

Though, none of use can lay claim to being " Minder Readers " it would be possibly and reasonable to infer" i just updated to Ventura " is somewhat open to may possibilities.

Updating, on these Forums , is understood is going from, say High Sierra 10.13.5 to High Sierra 10.13.6

UpGrading would be moving from High Sierra to Ventura .
