How to get a notification from Home(Kit) App if a power plug turns on and off?

I'm using Apple HomeKit supported smart plugs and an Apple HomePod mini. The HomePod mini and the smart plugs are visible in the Home app and are working fine.

The only thing I'm missing is that I'm getting a push notification on my iPhone if a smart plug is turning on and off. The Home app is only allowing me to change the "Status" of a smart plug but is not giving me the option to enable "Activity Notifications" as described here:

Get notifications for your smart home accessories - Apple Support

Is this a limitation of the Home app not providing "Activity Notifications" for smart plugs?

Is there any chance to get a push notification (when I'm at home and when I'm not at home) on my iPhone if a smart plug switches on/ off status?

Environment:

Mac Mini M1 2020 running Ventura 13.1 and Home App Version 7.0 (696.3.9.4.2)

iPhone 13 Pro running iOS 16.2

HomePod mini OS 16.2

VOCOlinc VP3 smart plugs at firmware level 1.115.2

Many thanks and regards,

Holger

Hello Homartens,

Thanks for posting your question in Apple Support Communities.

It sounds like you have everything set up properly as shown in the resource you are referencing: Get notifications for your smart home accessories

However, not all smart home accessories support notifications. Therefore, it appears as though your accessories may not include this feature. This information can be located at the bottom of the resource.

Take care.
