LOUD text message sounds while on the phone!

While I am talking on the phone, if someone sends a text to me, the notification sound is very loud. With the speaker up to my ear when I’m on the phone, it’s really too loud. Does this happen to others? Anyone know how to fix it)

Is there any way to turn off swoosh noise with iPhone messages when sending an outgoing text? I am texting someone back and forth, but while I am texting my outgoing messages do a swooshing noise. How do I turn that off? Also, I get another noise, separate from the notification noise that sounds like a pewww whenever I receive a text while I am looking at the text just sent me on my screen. No noises are required because I am looking at Messages app at the exact conversation. The people around me are getting annoyed at the noises. Issue with text messages ringing through I am on an iPhone 11, iOS 16.1.1. I am having issues with text messages ringing through. Some are coming through, some are not, iMessages the same thing. Sometimes the notification works. sometimes it doesn't Sound is on. Volume is up. I checked setting and tested the sound and it works. so any thoughts here on what is occurring. I did restart the phone as well.

No iPhone SMS Notification Sound I do not get a notification sound for SMS texts, specifically automated texts. I do get a visual notification, just no alert sound. This is very specific to SMS texts. All other alert sounds work fine including iMessage alerts, i.e. any messages from iPhones. There are no other symptoms. I cannot find any settings that are unique to SMS/MMS. I've had this problem forever (at least a year) through multiple reboots and iOS version upgrades. I'm looking for any ideas!

You can adjust the volume of alerts lower when you're not on a call. You also may have the sounds locked. Take a look at the article here. It should help: Adjust the volume on iPhone
