Blocked Mail not going to Trash -WHERE IS APPLE's RESPONSE????

This is from a post from MGuerra back in April 2022 that you can no longer respond to (I suspect the response has been overwhelming). Much thanks to MGuerra for raising the topic that I think Apple may have suppressed, who knows, maybe there are big kickbacks from the spammer cartel to NOT FIX THIS AFTER ALL THIS TIME!!! WHERE IS APPLE's RESPONSE????

MGuerra posted and I'm seconding the motion as well said:

'In Mail preferences I set blocked mail to go directly to Trash. It's not. It goes to the Junk mail inbox instead. I have to manually go through a hundred or more junk mails from blocked senders every day and send them to Trash. Previous questions about this issue here in the community have come up blank. Running Monterrey 12.2.1 on a 24" 2021 M1 iMac.'

Thanks AlWeir, has been going on for years, seems Apple is complicit and chooses to allow it to continue. Still looking for a solution or Apples conscience to step up. I appreciate the response

Maybe you are adding a bit of drama to this situation. It sounds like Apple Mail (and GMAIL) probably apply the junk mail filters first and other rules as well as the blocked mail filters second. (I haven't done experiments to verify this.) And your preference would be to reverse that order of things. I don't think anything quite as dramatic as "kickbacks" or "cartels" are involved here, as you had earlier suggested. Also, Apple is a company, not a person, so I doubt there is a "conscience" involved here, but rather the computers simply behave as they have been programmed to behave.

If you prefer a different approach for the filtering or blocking emails or handling of junk emails, here is the way you can express your preferences to Apple directly (these Discussion forums have user participants but not Apple programmers):

Mail is really just as useless as Gmail is from Google. If you have a email blocked and it reoccurs then Mail should just delete it, not sent it to Trash or Junk (it is a waste of time for the enduser), but both Mail and Gmail just put it in the Junk folder.

I wish I could find a easy workaround for this both in Mail and Gmail but I haven't yet.

"Blocked Mail not going to Trash -WHERE IS APPLE's RESPONSE????"

Given your expressed evaluation of Apple's handling of blocked emails, why would you want them, or any other company, managing your emails? My guess is that it would take one email blocked in error by the company and you would be shouting about how Apple/company blocked your email. I think you would be posting to get Apple out of your business.

Email spam and blocking is complex and has been an issue for years. Check with your email provider for blocking methods/apps available on their servers.
