I have an apple TV box and when i go into the music application it dens seem to enable me to listen to new music (just my old purchases etc) as I pay for an i-tunes subscription

Thanks for clarifying. The third-generation Apple TV does not have support for the Apple Music subscription, but you might be able to use AirPlay from your iPhone. Check out this link for the steps to see if that works for you: Use AirPlay to stream audio

Thanks for trying to help me but I cannot see the tv button I have the aluminium remote it is 3rd gen Apple TV I have put in the settings my iTunes account name and password but still does allow me to use my iTunes subscription unfortunately and only had old music of mine from original playlists etc
thanks and explains a lot I tried AirPlay but does like it as keeps cutting out the sound and assume that is an Apple way of telling me I need to upgrade the TV box I have another in the house which is a newer 4k version so will swap the around and see what happens
