My Apple TV device wants me to buy music but I pay for iTunes subscription how can i use iTunes on the Apple tv

Thanks for clarifying. The third-generation Apple TV does not have support for the Apple Music subscription, but you might be able to use AirPlay from your iPhone. Check out this link for the steps to see if that works for you: Use AirPlay to stream audio

Are you signed in with the same Apple ID? This would explain why you aren't able to access new purchases. This link shows how to check: Sign in with your Apple ID
