Capitalize when dictating on iOS/iPadOS

First off, I hope someone from Apple Support is monitoring this forum. I have researched this a lot, and discovered that there is a solution that works in iOS 16. If you say “caps on“ (not just “caps“ which used to work on iOS), the next word should be capitalized. The catch is you then must say “caps off“ to turn this setting off. Otherwise, every word you dictate will be capitalized. Kind of clunky, huh?

Here’s the question I have for Apple Support (or anyone who might know): the cool trick of selecting a word and tapping the shift key (or double tapping for all caps) seems to be broken. Can this be fixed?

Thanks for posting in the Apple Support Communities UI Guy,

The following page is a great resource on the available options for entering text on your iPhone 14 Pro: Type with the onscreen keyboard on iPhone

If you'd like to see additional options not outlined there, we recommend providing feedback to Apple: Apple - Product Feedback

You can also find keyboards in the App Store, which may provide additional or different functionality when typing.

Cheers!
