In Pages, the Character Style "Link" is black and underlined. I would like it to be blue and underlined for all links going forward by default. The option to redefine from selection (if I manually change a link to blue) is not available. Is there any way to make the "Link" style blue?

Just to double check. Have you selected the text and it's highlighted ie is the grey the highlight colour? If it is try doing it in Safe Mode and see if it works. If it does try again in normal mode.

Even when creating a new style, it doesn't seem possible to bind a color to the Character style. Yet, there is a Red Bold preset that converts its text to red.
Not sure why it's not working. Link 1 under Character Styles should be blue as in my screen shot above.
I have a better way which means you don't need to keep selecting a Character Style. Make sure YouTube.com is blue, select the text and go to Link under Character Styles, click on the arrow on the right and select Redefine:
Make the text colour blue then create a new character style by pressing the + icon:
Tried. New character style doesn't adopt the new color, stays black.
Doesn't seem to be possible. Maybe this is a bug?
The best you can do is create a new character style.
