2022 Appletv 4K won’t load movie library or music library.

This started a couple of weeks ago. The latest Appletv won’t load my movie/tv library or music library. I just tried resetting and downloading the latest 6.2 software and it didn’t fix the issue. I The libraries work on all of my older Appletv 4k’s.

Is this about Home Sharing?

Are all devices connected to the same home network? Verify your router settings that it doesn’t create multiple networks (e.g. multiple SSID Wi-Fi network names). Recommended settings for Wi-Fi routers and access points - Apple Support

Try restarting your router.

Verify that the matching Apple ID account is used for the Home Sharing settings on all devices.

Verify that all Home Sharing libraries on the networked computers have unique names.


Or is this about iTunes Store libraries (purchased content)?

If so, then try signing out, and immediately sign in again.

Verify that the matching Apple ID account is active, in case of multiple users on that Apple TV box. Other accounts can’t access your library directly.

This is normally a networking issue. I have a library of about 1500 movies and they all stream from my Mac to my Apple 4K's just fine. In my home first I rely on a Mesh network for my networking needs to ensure I have a very strong signal throughout my home. The network supports about 50 wi-fi devices currently. My movie library is stored on an RAID 5 drive that is connected via Thunderbolt 3 to my 2020 27" iMac.


Please ensure that first you have an extremely strong network and excellent signal where each of your Apple TV's reside. Also ensure your Home Sharing is setup correctly and your Apple TV is sharing the same Apple ID as the device the movie library is on.

I have a mesh and network hits about 500mbps around the Apple TVs. This issue is happening on all my Apple TVs since 2021 Apple TV refresh. And continues with the 2022 model.


I have a separate Apple ID and a separate iTunes account. The sharing is set up with the iTunes account. I can try with my Apple ID. I haven’t done that part.


I read somewhere this is a library being too big issue but I don’t know.
