Apple Music request timed out

The Apple Music request timed out issue is getting beyond a joke now and I’ve only had the issue since updating to iOS 16. From reading other comments and questions, Apple should really make it a priority to sort this problem out. My two sons have already moved to Spotify because of it and I don’t know how much longer I’m willing to put up with it. I’ve tried everything to sort it out myself but it’s obviously beyond that. Please Apple, sort this problem out once and for all.

Hey there DEPUTY HAWK,

While you'll need to contact Apple Support to troubleshoot directly with them, we wanted to provide a link for your reference: Get Support

That being said, we'd like to help however we can over Apple Support Communities by making sure we fully understand what's happening with Apple Music, along with ruling out some general possible causes:

  1. You mentioned that Apple Music 'request timed out', but we do not understand what you meant. Is this an error you're seeing in Apple Music, when does this occur, etc. The more details you provide us, the better we'll understand the issue.
  2. We see from your post topic that you selected 'Music on iOS'. If you're using a compatible model, the latest version is iOS 16.1.1. You can verify this within Settings > General > About. Here's a link that'll show how to first back up, then Update your iPhone or iPad.
  3. Sometimes unexpected behavior can be resolved with a restart: Restart your iPhone
  4. If you have a different device signed into the same Apple ID for Apple Music, does the same issue occur on it?

Cheers!
