Not receiving verification texts

IPhone 14 with iOS 16.1, Verizon. I am not receiving texts from

providers sending a two-factor verification code (Bank, Facebook, Credit Card websites) my

credit union, etc). I sometimes get “not delivered” messages when texting

someone who does not have iMessage, though some of the texts are getting

through even with the “not delivered” message. Seems to have started

when I upgraded to the iphone 14 ~ a month ago. I've tried restarting, turning airplane mode on and off. Anyone have suggestions?

Thanks. I called Apple Tech Support. The tech asked a few questions and told me to contact Verizon as it is a carrier problem. It took Verizon a couple of days to get back to me but they confirmed the issue was at their end. They made an adjustment, had me restart the phone and…problem is gone!

You may not have an SMS plan enabled by your carrier for the SIM that you use on your device. Apple Inc does not provide SMS services.
